Does the Answering Machine feature still exist in the XZ1 Compact?

If yes, where do I find it?

According to Xperia XZ1 Compact Manual, there's no such feature.

But please, try to go to 

Settings > Calls 

See if you have any option like:

Hi @zik!

As @diogosimoes4321 wrote, the Xperia answering machine feature is not available in the Xperia XZ1 Compact.

However, most operators have a default answering machine that you can use for when you aren't able to answer a call and the person calling you can record a voice message. You can find this if you open up the Phone application > tap the 3 dots > Settings > Voicemail.

Why did Sony remove this feature ? it is useful as it is easier to replay the message straight away, and this saves roaming charges !

Hi @SunnyEricsson, I'm afraid that I don't have any information on why this is no longer available.

I understand that this can be a very useful feature to have and is faster/easier to use than having to call the operators voicemail to listen to messages, so I will make sure to forward this internally as user feedback!

I regret buying XZ1 because of removing AnsweringMachine feature! The question is when you will put it back?

Never. Miss it to. And I miss tap to wake/tap to sleep. The FM radio ( I mean good to have under certain circumstances). I miss the genoius Sony clock. Easy to handle. You could set the alarm a couple of days  ahead without having to unmark 6 days and make it repeatable as in the useless Google watch.

I miss they dont  delivier it with Sony keyboard installed. Now you to have search for it. Many people dont know how to do

I miss the Sony calender. Its downloadable but they dont support it any more. Things like easter doesnt show in red

I miss I cant record the display any more. I was sometimes good to have and easy to use

The information that I have available is that it's not available in Xperia XZ1, however I will make sure to forward your thoughts on this internally as user feedback!

@Lemmy2, I'll make sure to forward your feedback regarding these changes as well and If you don't like the pre-installed Clock application, you can take a look in the Google Play store and see if you can find another one that suits you better!
