Hi guys,
I rinsed my phone under the tap today because someone got chocolate icing on the screen. I didn't submerse it in water and i haven't dropped it. I simply ran it under the tap for no more than 5 seconds then dried it on my shirt and now the touchscreen doesnt work.
I made sure the flaps were closed and i've checked the indicators, on both sides they are yellow/white and not pink.
I'm trying a repair through the computer as restarting the phone has done nothing.
Has anyone had this happen/ can anyone suggest anything?
Thanks
George
Connect the phone to a wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 13 seconds > let it charge for 3 hours > repair the phone with PCC
if that doesn't work then contact your local Xperia Care
Sadly no joy:(
what is the reason it would stop working?
Is there anything else i can do other than sending it off?
Cheers
ok so i did the restore 2 more times and nowit seems to be working... why would this happen? is it likely to happen again?
Well it depends i dont know if it was a water damage or software... Perhaps you should contact Sony and ask them to do a vacum test.
Uliwooly, it could be, however for me it wouldn't have sense... He clearly said that after running it under the tap, the touchscreen stopped responding... For me it looks like the inside dried while doing the reset and its back to life.
If it's related to water the best thing to do is to get a vacuum test with his local Xperia care
