the call log on phone app does not merge for the same person.

e.g. a contact with 1234567 missed call twice and it will appear 2 lines on the call log instead

Strange. I only have two Phone as well. Try repairing the software via PC Companion as there might be something wrong.

Hi,

This is how I understand the call log and how it works for me: For example, alexdon places a call to me and he will end up at the top of my call log. This day, I do not receive any further calls so when he calls me back the next day, he will be merged in my call log with the number (2) next to his name (since he is the latest caller). Then Samuel gives me a call and he will end up in the top of my list. If now alexdon calls me again, he will not be merged since I had a call from Samuel, so alexdon will be shown as a "new person" in the call log. You should be able to follow the call log as a chronological list. And when you don't have the number saved as a contact, it will never be merged.

Regarding the phone apps, it may not be a problem. It can be this way for your customization of the software.
