Hello people,
I just recently got Xperia P and found out that my accelerometer (or some meter thingy) isn't correct. Placed on a flat surface (even the floor) and my temple run is still tilted to the right. Was wondering if anyone experience this?
I've tried the test you suggested. And my result are similar to mithrunpradeep's.
I placed it on the floor to test it. Used acmeter and i still get the same result.
Values when placed on floor : and i am having no problems with my device, everything is working as it is supposed to work !!!
Thank you for that screenshot.
you still have a wee bit to the right. -0 value, but as you said you have no problem right?
@ xJuneBride and mithrunpradeep, I would suggest to try to tap on and off the accelerometer option , see if it re calibrates the phone.if not, you can try to explain this to the sony service center, perhaps show them the result of the service test. this should let them see clearly there is something wrong.
Everything is fine, i have played NFS Shift too, GT+ racing , Temple Run too. I previously had Neo V too , no issues here, its just misconception
What they are considering as a problem is not a problem indeed, if you keep a phone on horizontal position while in landscape mode, it will remain in landscape mode only, until you tilt the device vertically to set the accelorometer in motion !!
It is more of an hardware like vibrator, rather than software problem, if it is not working in games, its problem of developers not SONY's , phone manufacturers only guarantee , that their device performs basic function as it was supplied by them , if some app developer's coding is not effective , then you cannot blame phone for that !!
Check out the details about what actually a ACCELOROMETER is :

mithrunpradeep' screenshot show a tilt to the right even it is placed on a flat surface. how could that be not an inconvinience? as you can see yours did not have that tilt. so there must be something wrong with their phone.
temple run is buggy , i have played it on GB and ICS too.
If they encounter same problem in other games , like racing games too.
can you upload the screenshot of your Service test?
