After a year and a half my tablet stopped charging and stopped being recognized by the computer.
When the tablet was closed and connected to power i would see red led and a battery picture will be shown on the screen for a second but the battery won't charge.
Tried the following:
1, Factory reset (a couple of times) - originally it was 4.4.2 and after reset it was 4.3
2. tried power + volume up
3. Tried repair tablet in PC companion with volume down
4. installed and uninstalled a few apps.
Nothing
A few days later connected to power again and all is well.
Why did it happen and will it happen again.
After problems with charging, i did factory reset which set it to android 4.3.
Trying to do software update through the phone wrote that i have the latest version.
PC companion software update wrote the same.
Finally i did repair my tablet and it installed 4.4.2.
Anyone know why is this and how i can fix it?
Also how will i know when Lollipop is available? And why isn't it available (Israel, no provider)?
You can find the latest available software update information on our product blog.
If want to know more about software roll out process and how it works please see this topic.
How can i fix it so my phone will recognize when there is a new update over OTA or that PC companion will recognize that there is an update?
Hard to tell but you can stop by your local Xperia care
i haven't unlocked the bootloader (i am assuming i didn't get it unlocked) but i did root it and unrooted it, and stil i had the problem.
Just like any other update, you have to wait for the update to be approved and released in the country where you purchased that Xperia.
