Waterproof... Nope.

Waterproof... Nope.

So I've had my Xperia Z2 for almost two months now, and had been working fine, except for the waterproof feature.

After taking numerous videos underwater, and sharing them with friends, the phone decided to malfunction (AFTER ONLY TWO MONTHS). The ports to both the MicroSD slot and SIM slot were fully sealed (as always) yet after about two minutes in my pool of 3ft. the screen shut off - yet volume and vibration functionality remained. I dried and let the phone sit on a towel for about five minutes and then the phone began vibrating without stoping for over twenty minutes until (what I assume) the battery died.

I've taken the phone in to my service provider (Bell) who have now sent it to SONY for examination.

I can't wait to see what SONY says as I have been able to save the memory card and have the videos leading up to the one cut off. Obviously there must be a chasis defect as both the rear lens and flash developed condensation.

Oh and just as a heads up, if your lens does develop condensation inside from being in the water, you probably have a defect. The first time I brought my phone under water it became foggy and the only way I was able to fix it was by plugging in the charger and leaving the camera on so it would dry it internally, it took approximately 10 minutes.

Hopefully SONY can fix these sealing errors soon as there are others in the market that also offer a waterproof feature.

As of now I have to wait 2-4 weeks for a phone that I had to switch carriers for... not too impressed.
