keyboard and crashing

I have 2 problems but they may be related. While I'm using google chrome the keyboard keeps disappearing and chrome keeps crashing back to home screen of the phone, this is very frustrating, especially the keyboard, any help would be great. Thanks

Settings > apps > all > chrome > clear everything > restart your phone

if that doesn't work perhaps repairing your phone with

I don't particularly want to make a zombie thread, but I've found I've had this exact issue on each update despite having performed a factory reset before each update.

It tends to occur when I have an app running in the background (with a cosntant status icon on the nofication panel, such as Juice Defender or My Data Manager). Upon text entry, the keyboard will open and cause this background app to disappear from the nofication panel as the input method selection icon appears in the nofication panel instead. Then, after a few moments, the background app icon reappears in the notification panel and causes the keyboard to crash (even if I'm still entering text) and the input method selection icon to disappear from the nofication panel; replaced by then background app.

So long as I don't have any background apps running that have a status icon in the notification panel, I don't have the problem. It's still an annoying bug though.

I have this problem, with Chrome, the keyboard either won't come up, or vanishes. I'm on android 4.3. I cannot fill in forms, e.g. username and password. I mainly use Swype, but I've tested it with the native Xperia keyboard, same result. Very frustrating!

I have this problem too, with native keyboard and Swype. It's very disappointing that Sony just ignore the problem. Bear this in mind when choosing your next device. In buying a tablet, but I wouldn't touch Sony again
