Kill running (background) apps

How do you guys kill your apps that are runnig in the background in spite of the fact that I dont use them at that time.

For example, when I open my book reader app and close it, it still keeps running in the background...so does Facebook, Maps app, some gallery view app etc...

When I close these apps I want them to be CLOSED !

Is there any way to do that on my non-rooted Xperia SP ?

Recent apps might be removed from task manager, but in the running apps you might still find some of them.

You can disable one app,but that means you will not be able to use it unless you enable it again. No,without a task killer, you cannot stop the apps. You can remove them from recent task manager.,also.

@alexdon: What is "recent task manager"?

Is a list of recently used apps, you can get it by double tapping home button.

You can use an app called "Greenify", although hibernating apps is manual for non-rooted devices or stop worrying about closing them, Android will close them when memory is needed

Stamina mode also helps the device to "deep sleep"

'double tapping home button' doesn't work on SP

On Xperia SP it's the icon on the right of the home icon.
