I have bought WH-1000XM5 and tested their BT multipoint capabilities. Seems that comparing to the XM4, multipoint BT performance is consistent (means more same test scenarios and the same results). One scenario is not still working according to my expectations. I would like to know if anybody is having the same or opposite experience.
Mobile phone: Samsung S21, last update of Android
PC: Lenovo T14, Windows 10, 20H2, build 19042.1766
Headphones are connected to PC and mobile phone at the same time. Microsoft Teams conference is active. Microsoft Teams uses Sony headset/headphones as speaker and Sony headset as microphone. Somebody is calling me on my mobile phone, I can see that headphones are still connected to the mobile phone via BT, the call seems to be switched to the headphones, BT icon is green (active) and suddenly BT icon becomes inactive (and cannot be activated manually) and the incoming call starts ringing on mobile phone instead of headphones. The same scenario happens when I make an outgoing call. It rings on the mobile phone instead of headphones.
If i configure Microsoft Teams to use internal microphone instead of Sony XM5 headset, the incoming or outgoing calls ring in the headphones.
The same mobile phone, the same PC and Cisco HS-730 headset. Both incoming and outgoing calls ring on the XM5 headphones at the same conditions and no need to reconfigure Microsoft Teams to use internal PC microphone. When I answer the call, I don't hear Microsoft Teams conference until I end the call, which is what I expect and like!
What is your experience?
Thank you, Martin
I haven't really test it myself but thank you for the insight! But, I've been watching online reviews for it, especially people who've been testing it for weeks now, and it seems yea it's mostly stable.
