Sony WF-1000XM4 lost RH audio after software update

I have an issue with my Sony WF-1000XM4 purchased in Nov 2021.

I recently updated the firmware and since then the right bud has very low volume. I have done factory reset and the issue persists. I live in Paris and I am afraid the Sony FR support site is not very clear in this respect but I have contacted my nearest Sony dealer and they inform that they “..do not handle this product category”

Here's the link for Sony authorized repair shops in France. I don't speak French, but you will need to choose the correct filter for headphones, and try to contact places near you. Hope it helps.

Hey @duncans101, make sure they're running on the latest software version, then try to initialize the settings as mentioned here. And you also test them with different devices.

Many thanks for the suggestions:

- WF-1000XM4 version is 1.4.2

- Initialized the headset to restore factory settings

- also tried a Huawei Android phone with the same results

I actually spoke with Sony support against a ticket and they agreed that unit should be returned under warranty. My challenge now is that I am in Paris, France and the support network here seems less than robust. I contacted local Sony dealer at Ste LTF and they advised that they "do not deal with this product category".

In UK I understand that all Sony work through what appears a very professional single point of contact in Pencoed. In France, it appears a jungle. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Duncan
