WF-C500 Sound breakup during phone calls.

Lots of complaints of sound breakup from people I’m talking to during a phone call. I can hear them fine but I’m having to repeat myself because they couldn’t make out what I am saying due to my voice breaking up. I’m using an Xperia 5iii which is usually in my pocket so it’s not far away from the ear buds. Doesn’t matter where I am, I can be in the house, the car, outside, same problem. I’ve had this issue more or less since I got the buds and I’m at the point where I can only use them now for listening to audio.

Question is, are they faulty or are they all like this?

thanks

G

Hey,

Can you check if the microphone of the headset is wet from here, also can you try and reset the headset here and initialize it from here. I hope this helps

Apologies for the late response.

I can confirm that the headphones are not wet.

I have tried your first option of  resetting the headphones. I did notice straight after this that the audio would stop working while listening to a podcast. This happened 3 or 4 times withing half an hour but hasn't returned. I have been trying to use them as much as I can for phone calls and at the moment they seem to be ok.

If it does happen again then I will factory reset them.

I'm a bit concerned as they are coming up for a year old and still under warranty (?) However, I'll keep monitoring them more.

Many thanks for your advise.

Keep them tested, especially with other devices as well, if this carries on I think you're due to a call from Sony.

No change unfortunately, I also initialised them just to be sure.

I'll need to contact Sony about it.

Thanks once again for your suggestions.

Hi grasuthe4,

have you tested your phone with other headsets? Or vice versa?

If yes and the issue remains, here's the contact info for Sony

The issue is definitely with the headset.

Hi, thanks for that. I haven't tried another phone yet. I'll give it a try though.

Cheers

Hi, I've tried another phone(Samsung S8+) and getting the same issues. Defo a headset issue.

I'll get in contact with Sony and see when the procedure is.

Many thanks for the advised.
