Hello,
I've just bought a Walkman NW-A45 and I'm having difficulty adding my existing music library to it.
Firstly I added a micro SD card and formated it using the settings on the Walkman. Then I downloaded Music Center for PC and then selected import folder and selected my iTunes Library which is about 72GB and has roughly 13k songs. Music Center has managed to import many of the songs but once it was finished it displayed a pop up explaining that some of the files (a big % of my library) couldn't be copied across.
The error code is: 24667, unable to read file. I've googled this error and can't find any explaination.
As far I am aware all of the files in my iTunes library are MP3 files with a bit rate between 192 and 320 so I'm not sure why some of them are copying over and some are not. I didn't buy any music directly from iTunes either.
I also have some music files on my PC which haven't been put into iTunes which are MP3 and 320kbs and I'm getting the same error message so it's not just an iTunes problem.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong / can someone help?
Thanks,
David
Hi David,
Welcome to the community.
I'm just going to see if I can find anything out for you - maybe someone else in the community can help in the meantime though.
Thanks,
Pascale
Hi lglsmith,
That sounds weird! I've never heard of this error message. Would it still be the same if you tried to manually copy of these files to Music Centre instead of using the "Importing option"? Also, Have you tried to uninstall the application and reinstall again to test?

I purchase music via i-Tunes and usually have no difficulty transferring and listening to content in Music Centre. But I cannot transfer an album purchased this week. It can be played in i-Tunes and Windows Media Centre but, despite dragging and dropping into Music Centre via Windows Explorer (which shows the folder/ files are present in Music Centre) I just get error code 24667 when I try to download the file for transfer to my Walkman. I have tried downloading and reloading the album via I-Tunes which has always resolved such difficulties in the past , but not this time.
Can anyone help please?
Is the model of the Walkman NW-A45? Or is it a different model number? What is the file codec format and extension of the last album you're trying to transfer?
Regards,
Gladio
I am having this same problem. This whole program is pretty frustrating and dysfunctional. I had it to the point of about two albums that had this error and then I reloaded my music into the program to try and fix things so I can finally add my library to the walkman itself. Once I did that now there is about 10+ albums with this error and whether or not I try to add the original files or backup copies I just keep getting the same error. I have spent so much time trying to get my music library, that is already perfectly organized, into this program since its the only proper way to get it onto my walkman and it is virtually impossible to get it to work.
Maybe the issue is with the file format of the new albums, could you share the file format and i will take a look at it?
Music centre itunes -24667 error when importing
SOLUTION:
I have NWA45 Sony Walkman and bought itunes songs. Got some -24667 errors adding my purchases into MUSIC CENTRE FOR PC.
Assuming you have an area in one of your directories for importing from and into Music centre.
Delete misbehaving song files from this directory.
Go into itunes songs list. sort date added. Highlight recently added problem files(m4a type).
Use File convert menue option and choose create mp3.
Highlight the new mp3 files created and move to your usual staging area.
In Music Centre Burger(3 lines) File import, select the new mp3 files and press enter.
Hopefully no error mesages.
I suppose downsid is mp3 might not be as good s m4a files
Good importing.
