I've been trying to get my Bluetooth working for a while now, but it just doesn't work. Here's what I did:
- When I switch on my Vaio with the "wireless switch" ON I briefly see the blue light (next to the green W LAN light) on, but it quickly goes off. There is a WiFi network nearby that I'm not using. Does a WiFi detection force the Bluetooth radio off ?
- When I go under Control Panel > Bluetooth Devices: no devices are detected. And clicking Add he doesn't find any either
- I found some info on XP SP2 problems with Bluetooth. So I went to the Device Manager. I don't see any Bluetooth device in the list. I click Scan for Hardware Changes, but he doesn't find anything.
Anyone can help me with this ?
matey have u seen the green LAN icon in the start bar tray (on the right by the clock) double click that and u shud be able to turn it on, then go to the control panel and adjust other setting there, like the PC name and visibility
HTH
I was able to make it work last night at home. Indeed, I found the green LAN icon on the task bar and was able to switch it on. Not sure why I didn't see/notice this icon at work. Maybe something to do with the network there ?
Anyway, my problem is resolved.
