Occasionally unstable touchpad

I have had my N31Z for about 6 weeks now, and am overall very happy with it.

However, my only problem is an intermittent one (sometimes not occuring for a few days, sometimes a few times a day, usually requiring a restart to fix it) where the touchpad becmes unstable to work, sometimes not responding to my movements at all, and other times following my finger but 'wobbling' the mouse pointer, making selection of menu items etc. very tricky!

I haven't managed to track down a single cause that brings about this situation, sometimes it seems that when the wireless network is misbehaving this happens, but then again it could just be a coincidence.

I have tried searching for updated drivers ( I have an Alps pointing device driver v.7.0.501.5) but can't find one.

Does this sound like a driver issue or a hardware fault? I don't fancy sending the unit back for a month or so repair so any advice or things to try would be much apppreciated!

Welcome to ClubVAIO

You could try reinstalling the driver from C:\drivers\pointing. Double click on Apoint.exe

Does that help?
