A7 won't turn on after failed update!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I tried to update the firmware on my Sony a7. The camera was working perfectly before I started the update. The update failed and the Updater Software instructed me to disconnect the camera and remove the battery. The camera now does not turn on. I've even tried leaving the battery and SD out overnight. When I insert the battery the little red light comes on, but nothing else.

Please tell me there is an easy fix for this. Everything I'm reading suggests that I'll need to send the camera in for repairs... I bought this camera for my travels - I'm now in India and will not be back in the UK for a long time... Sending it in for repairs is not an option.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Firstly may I ask if you tried to update the firmware with a Mac?

(There are a few cases online of people who have had the same problem after doing so)

If so, then try connecting to a pc. This 'should' reinstall / reinstate the camera.
