XZ dont see 5Ghz networks

Just bought new Xperia XZ dual, and it dont show any of my 5ghz networks (channels 149 width 80, 153 width 20). Old xperia z1 works with both networks without any problems, just as other 5Ghz devices (ipads, laptops).
Any suggestions how to fix it?

Sony and Apple have a different regulations? All home devices Apple (iPad, iPhone) officially sold in Russia work on all frequencies allowed in Russia, the problem is only with Sony. At that TV Sony 9005 works perfectly on all available channels and the problem have my smartphone only.

No, it looks like Apple have better translators (from Russian to English).

Even older smartphones (Z1, for example) don't have this problem.

Recently updated XZ to Oreo - problem still exists Slightly_frowning_Face

Sorry Sony, but my next smartphone will be something different. After 16 months of usage I have collected too much problems with this model (5GHz, overheating, lifetime, ugly oversharping in camera, etc).

Hi there! I do not know if this is still actual, but... I came across the same problem and I got one stupid idea: I switched the antennas on my new router. And suddenly, boom, XZ and other devices see 5GHz wi-fi signal.

Please explain it more.

How did you switch.

Hi, @MartinPL,

See the pic below. I have a router with 2 visible antennas. Hence I just switched their places. You simply unscrew antenna 1, then antenna 2. The next step is to screw antenna 1 to place where antenna 2 was originally and antenna 2 to place where antenna 1 was originally. This way it works for me just fine. Of course you have to have both frequencies active.

Kind regards!

I already solve my problem. So far, both networks (2.4 and 5 GHz) had the same name and Xperia XZ did not want to connect to 5 GHz, although according to Wifi Analyzer, he saw it. I changed the name of the 5GHz network to another in the modem. This other name appeared to be chosen, I chose it manually and everything works Slightly_smiling_Face No problems are gone :).
