I partially immeresed my new Xpera z2 in water (The flaps were tightly sealed) and the display started to go dim. Without waiting another second, I pulled the device out and turned it off. Let it dry in the sun and tried turning it on but nothing happened.
Went Off, never to be able to turn the phone on again.
When connected to the Charger, the red light blinks faster.
When connected to USB red blinking led, blinks slower.
Does not go 'On' anymore.
Recovery from pc compannion does not work.
The Update tool send by the sony technical suppport also did not recognise the device.
Windows does not recognise it.
Volume Up + power does not work
Volume Down + Power does not work
Volume Up of Down (phone turned off) connecting with USB does not work.
Red button next to the sim card does not reset the phone
UPDATE: The phone turned on after charging it for 3+hrs but water is in the device. What should I do about it? For now, I've turned it off and hopefully the water will dry off. But Xperia Z2 is supposed to be a water proof device. (I am positive I had the flaps sealed [As a matter of fact, I didn't even immerse that part in the water] I live in Pakistan. What should I do about it?)
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Sorry to hear about your phone. I would suggest that you raise this with your local Xperia support team. It sounds like you need to have your phone examined by an authorized service center.
We don't have an Xperia support team here in Pakistan, nor do we have Sony World here.
My phone is under warrenty.
So my Xperia Z2 got water-damaged yesterday. After letting it dry for a while, I tried to turn it on, but it didn't. I plugged it in to charge and the RED light kept on flashing fast. Connted it to my PC via USB and the RED light was flahing, but slowly. After a few hours on charging, the phone turned on but water was in the screen. I immediately turned it off and placed it in rice. Today, the same is happening. The red light is flashing and the phone is not turning on. It's been put on charging for more than 2hours......
What does the flashing indicates?
Hi, where did you get your phone? You should approach the seller since you have a warranty.
I just bought if from a regular mobile shop

You should approach your seller (I assume is an authorised dealer) to see whether they can replace the phone first. Let us know the outcome.
I took the phone to the seller and they said that water damage can't be coverd under warenty and they're gonna charge me if I would want to get it fixed.
The phone is pretty stable now, everything is working just fine except for the display.
(If you cannot see what happened in the picture then try tilting the screen)
Is it just the water in the display or is the display damaged?
If it's water then I could continue keeping the phone in a box of rice and silica gel and the water will dry out, right?
So last night I put my phone on charging and went to sleep.
In the morning, the phone was completely unresponsive (though the notification light was blinking white).
When it is on charging, the orange light blinks fast. When I connect it via usb to a computer, the orange light blinks slow. Windows does not recognize the phone (neither does Sony PC Companion). No button combination would work. The reset button next to the sim card slot is not resetting the phone.
