Xperia Z dead

I've nnly had my Xperia Z a day and it's totally dead. I had a full charge last time I looked and was using it about 5 minutes ago. No reaction trying to turn it back on (holding the power button for 10 seconds etc). I don't have a memory card in - just the micro-sim.

Anyone had the same? any suggestions?

Did you check this thing? As far as I understand from a telephone conversation with Sony tech support, this is the last line of defense against bricking (if you choose factory reset). In my case it did not help. Killed either battery or memory.

I think, I found my XZ's problem, It suffers GPU or battery drain, I test it multiple times playing high bit rate 1080p contents and video streaming, suddenly it freezes and crashes but my friend has galaxy S3 and it overcomes these tests successfully!!!!

I think my 1 week old XZ has hardware issue probebly in its GPU or battery.

I just noticed in a lot of these problem pages people have installed something called "whatsapp" I don't know what that is or does but it appears here quiete often

just an observation - and I have a trouble free phone at the moment and have not installed it

oh I just checked - whatsapp is like skype, I use skype and skype is free and more widely used across all platforms, why would I want whatsapp

No I don't work for MS - I use skype for messaging - phone calls - skype calls etc etc and it's across all platforms and apart from calling phones through a network it's 100% free

i got a xperia z a week back and when i compared it with another xperia z there was huge difference in the camera quality..there was a huge difference in the sharpnes colours focus.

both the pictures were taken at same camera settings and same light conditions.

i have enclosed the both the pictures.

people please do check for camera quality of ur xperia z with another xperia z too..

Use "Update Service" to install the "new" update, it worked for me!..

P.S - Remove SD & SIM from phone prior to connecting your phone.

Lol Sony don't even send your phone back from repair by next day / 1st class delivery.

Not like there's a rush to get my phone back or anything....

Very happy for you! Unfortunately, even gave my phone to replace a new one (in the service center did not have spare parts). Hurried. I tried to recover without SD, remove the SIM has not guessed.

What do you mean it worked for you? No sleep of dead after update or what?
