Xperia SP Frozen!

I was turning off my Xperia SP device and it has frozen on the shutting down screen!

Holding down the power off button, powe off + camera, hard reset on back or any other combination does not work!

Anyone else had this issue? This is a pretty weird thing to happen within a week of having the phone!!

Please have a look at page 11 in the user guide:

http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/c5302/userguide_AE_C5302_C5303_C5306_2_Android4.1.pdf

To force the device to shut down:

1. Remove the back cover.

2. Press and hold down the OFF button using the tip of a pen or a similar object. The

device turns off automatically.

*Do not use overly sharp objects that could damage the OFF button.

I tried that but it also did not work. I had to let the battery run out and charge it again, and then did a factory reset. Didn't have more problems so far, but I'm still very skeptical with the OS or hardware on this phone

exactly the same thing has happened with mine and I have owned it for exactly 7 days, what a disgrace, can anyone help before I have to drive 16 miles to the shop to have it sorted?

I have encountered the same problem.
Though I forced shut down the problem didn't solve.
Everything started when I installed the latest update of software.
