Xperia SP Display Problem!

All SP owners please check this in your phone as well.

I'm having problems with my sp's display when the phone is kept on horizontal surface.

In the video,  phone is kept on the bed and i'm trying to use it. But you can see  the screen just misses the touch 😕 I wonder why.

This only happens when the phone is kept horizontally.

Ps: screen guard is not the problem since I checked with 2 different guards and phone works perfectly in hands.

PS2 > The screen works fine while phone is put to charging.

@LSS

Glad you took the time and uploaded another video showing how the problem occurs.

Sorry to hear that the screen replacement didn't fix it. Hopefully then it is just some kind of calibration problem or then something with the motherboard.

I got this problem and my phone is bought in UK and is a C5303. Are you all using the same phone model or does this happen with C5302 as well?

I already have found the solution to this problem..

Pls follow the instruction below:

1. enable your glove modes (turn the glove modes on)

2. turn the phone off

3. turn it on again (you will notice the difference immediately, try to put the phone in a flat surface and you will

notice that the screen is now working 100% perfectly without any touch issue)

4.  then turn off the glove mode

and your done!.. you phone now will work 100% even on flat surface..

Note: Once you restarted the phone or once you turn the phone off.. The problem will get back.

but you can start the process again.. Better if you just prevent your phone from turning off in order for you to not to

repeat the process..

Hope it helps.

Try this:
http://www.4shared.com/rar/3p6YulVl/ST21i_calibrate.html
Install it in your phone, then open it, put your phone in a flat surface and click calibrate.
It will take 1-5 seconds and then your touchscreen will be silky smooth. No problems.
It's for Sony Xperia tipo but also works for Sony Xperia SP.
To be honest, it works on almost every Sony Xperia phone. Miro, T, tipo, etc etc.
Hope I helped you! Have a nice day Winking_Face

seems like most of the Xperia SP models are affected by this issue. can you check this by calibrating your phone ? as posted ^ post.

edit: it don't think that its a hardware problem. i'm sure its related to software which needs some patches.

So my phone came back from Sony's repair centre & still had the same issue & maybe even worse than it was before!!!  Software update appears to be the only thing done according to the report.

EE would only offer to send it for repair (possibly to the same place it's already been) as it's outside of their 14 day exchange policy. The phone's faulty godammit!!

Went to Carphone Warehouse (Geek Squad) & it's now being sent to their repair centre so will see what this brings!!  Going to be without the phone until at least the end of next week Slightly_frowning_Face

Pretty sure my model is C5303

Still amazed that Sony haven't come out & said anything official about this handset, it's so good in all other aspects!

I tried the Glove Mode trick and it seems to be working as of now. I got my phone from the service center and that didnt help! they just updated the software!

I also cannot install the ST21i Calibrate! It says Application Not Installed!
