Warranty without purchase proof

Hello,

I'd like to buy a used Z3 but the seller doesn't have the purchase receipt. He argues that Sony doesn't need the receipt to repair it under warranty, and that use the model number instead.

Is he right ? I smell something funny here.

He is wrong. In the UK at least. Proof of purchase would be required

You should get in contact with your local Xperia Support, they should be able to answer this question.
