screen mirror bravia 46w905 disconnects

Problem with screen mirroring with z2 tablet and sony bravia 46w905 tv.

Tablet says mirroring session ended device disconnected.

I also have a z3 compact and it gives the same error. If I switch WiFi off on phone and use 3g mirroring works.

I have made sure both tablet and phone use 2.4ghz for WiFi as tv requires this, but makes no difference.

Tablet used to work until it got 4.4.4 update, so I wonder if this the problem.

This sounds more like a router issue and it's built in security firewall blocking it

Screen mirroring feature works on separate band from Wifi connection. It may use it to setup mirroring startup but video channel goes separately. It is direct connection between Miracast screen and device. It should work without wireless infrastructure at all.

When phone is connected to wifi over 2.4 GHz miracast works over 5 GHz. If Phone is connected over 5 GHz video is transferred over 2.4 GHz. Lower frequency means more laggy video but less susceptible to noise and bigger range. 5 GHz is far smoother but over 3 to 5 meters from TV.

I guess there might be some software glitches between your TV and mobile device. If it worked on previous firmware try to report it both through Xperia Care for your region and TV support. Keep at hand exact model, firmware version and serial numbers because they will need them.

You may try to reboot tablet. It sometimes helps. If you desperately need this feature try to do software repair (backup first). If not just wait for next firmware. Maybe it will be resolved. Anyway report it as I said above.
