Headphone jack not working

Headphone jack was functioning properly for two weeks or so of the new phone but then the music started playing out of the main speaker. Tried different headphones which are all working but no difference. Just says the headphones are not supported when I remove them although I used the ones that came with the phone. Tried to repair using the online system but it wouldn't work, despite manually downloading the file. Help?

Clear data for smart connect app under settings-apps-all.

Tried that too, no difference

Grab a pair of tweezers or something and check the 3.5mm input for any dirt.

system repair failing on pc companion, any idea on how to remedy thaT?

What does it tell you?

Sony Update Engine could not be installed (error 0x8007064e)

Then tells me to install sony update engine manually by clicking the link and then running the PC companion again which I've done various times. Finally to report to Sony Mobile if I still encounter problem

Make sure java is up to date and try again.Maybe restart your computer.
