forgotten screen lock swipe pattern

HELP! i cannot remember the swipe sequence i set as my keypad lock. i have sent it back to carphone wareshouse and they sent it back saying they couldnt unlock it. Then i rang sony, they said install pc companion and follow the steps for reset, this will not work either as a screen keeps popping up saying 'please unlock screen'. i cant so this is the whole point!! this was a brand new phone and im at my wits end with it now

Download sony update service and remove the lock by reinstalling software:

Turn your phone off completely

Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue select Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted hold volume down and connect your USB cable, Remember your phone should be switched off when connecting

followed the instructions for this but everything on update software but after i connect, nothing happens

It cannot be,it should tell you to turn off the phone,connect with volume down pressed and it should go on with checking the software.After that,you should be able to repair.

Were you prompted by the program to connect or did you connect after selecting the Repair my phone/tablet

now its saying remove and re input battery, how do i even take out the battery?

Hold power and volume up untill you feel 3 vibrations

The phone is forced turned off,SUS should find it.
