Thanks for your advice. But, however good meaning your advice is, the problem is that the flickering has got worse (at least for me), and the battery drains faster. Oh, also the restore from the backup fails too. I did a normal upgrade, when the battery drain became too much I did a clean wipe after taking a backup. Try restore and that fails because the kindle folder I backed up could not be restored ( who knows what else was not restored).. The files had been saved in a different folder on my PC by me and used filecommander to copy to the kindle folder. So that got saved. After the clean wipe, the flicker has really got worse.
Sticking to the flickering issue, this was reported by number of users across various forums (not just this) from the 4.3 update onwards. Sony never even acknowledged it or even attempted to hint at possible problems.. What do we make out of this ? To me this is arro****e at its worst. Trying to copy Apple ?
These days the cost of hardware has dropped significanly and a big component of the price we pay includes the Software and the after sales support. We paid good money on these devices. So with a buggy software and near non-existent support, what do we take from this ? Make up your own mind.
When the usability of the unit becomes questionable, then it is time to address things on priority. At the moment I don't see that coming from Sony. So my Bugperia Tablet Z is an expensive table mat ?
Good natured people like you and others who knows the subject could offer workarounds which may or may not work for some, but to me, it feels like when I complain about a wobbly wheel on my expensive car, I get advice to remove the wheel and see.. (I know its a bit far fetched, but very similar isn't it ?)
