Calls can not be disconnected due to display

Hi,

I have a Xperia M Dual C2004, Android 4.3. Build Number 15.5.A.1.5 .

The problem:

While making calls - the discplay turns off (even in hand- possibly due to error in proximity sensor) and it becomes impossible to disconnect/end the call unless the person at the other side ends the call.

Factory reset-has not proved to be helpful.

Please suggest.

Do you have the option of power button ends call?
