Android System Battery Drain

Hi All,

My phone is discharging at a rate of about 6% per hour, when Idle.

Android System  consumes about 15% battery, which I understand is excessive. In the pics attached it shows which packages are in it.

Can you please tell me what is safe/possible to disable?

Boot on safe mode and check again, most likely it's an app acting up

I also noticed that you have apps running all the time, such as battery apps, weather apps, antivirus? ram apps ? booster, cleaner apps?

Hello and thanks.

I rebooted in safe mode, but since GSam is now disabled I can't quite compare.

Under Battery Usage Android System is 3%, but there is still a lot of stuff in there.

The battery apps were just installed today and yesterday to try to understand where the problem is. Although I am not aware of those weather apps, antivirus ram apps and so on....where did you see them?

I only saw the battery app, and I was asking about the other apps.

You can go to settings > power management > battery

no, nothing like that, I am really keeping it to the minimum.

last night I left the phone on in airplane mode, with 57% battery, this morning it was off (so it can't be connectivity related).

I don't believe the problem is "just lollipop", there must be something in the background going beserker and creating noise.

Android system at 15% is unusual, isn't it?

It'll be wise to repair/reinstall lollipop with PCC, it will smooth things out. Run PCC > support zone > repair the phone

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)

I forgot to mention: I did that already, besides restarting the phone with the yellow button next to the sim card.

Try this

Reinstall lollipop > do NOT install any of the apps I've mentioned before, uninstall any antivirus app that was included with the update > charge the phone to 100% > use it as you normally would > once it reaches 10%

take the following screenshots

settings > power management > battery > take a screenshot of the list

tap on the graph > take a screenshot (landscape works better)

back > tap on the top 4 items on the list > take screenshots

post them all here.

Thanks.

Is this process absolutely necessary? Under power management - battery I only have 4 things now, I don't see how after reinstalling everything this can possibly look better... ?

interesting to see how Android system is only 3% under power management but 15% under GSam. Why is that?
