Pictures taken by phone camera are saving at very high megabites and can't send pictures by email

Help!  I can't send any pictures by email, because the files are too large!

My phone camera is saving pictures at very high MB, and when I try to send pictures by email, they get stuck in my outbox because the files are too large.

Why is my camera saving each picture at like 8MB?

How do I fix this?

@1Spitfire as I know, there could be 2 possibilities:

1. the email app should be able to resize according to your needs (original, large, medium, low with the last 3 options actually limiting the file size to be ok for sending).

2. just set your camera to a lower resolution from camera settings:

Let us know the result.

As you have a 23 megapixels in your camera, the resulting pictures' size will be of a few megabytes, this is normal  You can always resize your pictures with the stock editor in order to make them smaller
