I've the same issue, I've send this to sony with hopes they will respond with a solution.
"I've a Sony Xperia XA 2 Ultra, and the normal camara does disfunction every time, it says restart phone and when I do that it'll only show my face cam, even if I switch cams it goes to the other face cam, and if I restart it a couple times more after that it'll show my normal cam for a couple minutes before it will shut down the cam again, I've done the software repair from my computer and it doesn't help at all."
and the worst part is my phone is just 1 year old, that shouldn't happen in my opinion

repair shops open i would take the phone in to get the camera replaced.
More i think about it, it must be a faulty part and not a software problem.

Their reply does not necessarily indicate that it's a hardware issue. They need to have the phone to inspect it. Did you try performing a Software Repair before you send it?

I've already done the reset and that didn't help at all, and I don't want to pay for the repairs because I got this phone for just 1 year and in my opinion the camera shouldn't be broken in that time
