This just started happening a couple of days ago. Usually the light comes on whenever I open the case or plug it in to charge, but it's not lighting up at all now. The case also seems to be draining battery very quickly, even when the headphones are fully charged the case continues to drain.
Is something wrong with the case? Can I do something to fix it?
Hi @matthewsimpson and welcome to the Community
If you have checked the charging cable is inserted properly when you charge
then its probably best you contact Sony Support via this page
Are they still under warranty?
I would also suggest resetting and initializing the unit, maybe that would help: https://cutt.ly/N5rlp8h & https://cutt.ly/c5rljIy.
And maybe try a different cable, maybe it's just the cable.
The case is charging, I just don't get any lights on it to know what the current status is. I bought the headphones second hand, so they most likely aren't still under warranty.
I can't initialise the unit, the button on the back of the case doesn't do anything at the moment (so I can't pair the headphones up to anything new at the moment). I'm also worried that if I did reset the unit that I then would lose my current bluetooth pairings and be stuck with a dead headset (I did also try this a while ago and nothing happened, probably because the charging case is unresponsive).
And yeah, as I said above, it's not the cable, the case charges, it just doesn't respond to anything and drains the battery while the earbuds are stored in it.
I have just tried resetting and initializing the case and it didn't work. There are no lights on the case so I can't tell that anything happened, and the initialising requires releasing the button at the correct time, which can't be done without the lights (guessing the correct timing was unsuccessful).
The lights briefly came back on this morning, but as soon as I plugged the case in to charge the lights stopped again. I'm guessing this is a fault in the unit and that I need to return them from where I bought them. A shame as these were really great headphones for running with.
@matthewsimpson, I'm afraid it seems a hardware issue which requires a repair. I'd recommend reaching out to the Sony reps directly to check their repair process.
