I've recently bought the Sony WH-1000XM3 and was expecting there to be a quick mute function on the headphones rather than having to go to the laptop or phone application and mute within that. I'm very disappointed that there isn't!
I have a cheap headset on my office PC that has a physical button on the headset which I regularly use and is very convenient when in conference call and there is noise in the background that otherwise gets picked up by the mic.
Surely this is a function Sony can add into this headset!
Hi there,
Thanks for your feedback. I'll pass it on.
Best wishes,
M
@Anonymous Did you pass this message on and did you get a response? If so what was the response and is their any progress on a getting this feature added?
Hi @Uberbres
I know the headphones have a Quick Attention Mode which can be used by covering the right touch panel:

You can also pause playback with the touch functionality:

This works the same way as play/pause buttons on other headphones. The functionality depends on the Bluetooth profiles supported by the connected device.

Hello Sony!
When can we escpect the very basic feature?
Still cannot believe, that after spending >200€ for Wireless Headphones, i cannot mute the micro in calls. This is very basic and easy to implement. When can we excpect an firmware update?
Kind regards,
Clemens
@Clee23 not sure if this will be added, but I sent your feedback to Sony via their contact page.
That function doesn't mute the microphone
I completely agree, a quick mute hand gesture is necessary. When used as a headphone for any time of call, a mute function on the headphone itself is essential. Can this please be introduced by firmware update?
