NW- A45 Walkman - Database reset when I switch off the device

Hello,

I bought an NW-A45 walkman. It seems to have a very annoying feature (IMO) where the database gets reset every time I switch the device off. I have about 1500 tracks and I only ever use shuffle mode. I understand that this gets reset if I update the database but doing this when I turn the device off seems silly. Is there a way of disabling this ? Failing that, is there another device where I can do this ? I have many cheaper MP3 players that do this but don't have a true shuffle function.

Thanks

Hey, I didn't find anything on the Manual that confirms that's what should be happening, so maybe try resetting the Walkman. https://helpguide.sony.net/dmp/nwa40/v1/en/contents/TP0001449058.html?search=reset
