i have an sony vaio vgn a195hp. it has an inbuildt wireless adapter (Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection). whenever i have the power cable unplugged the connection seems to be much worse and at some webpages it crashes completely.
are there energy settings for the wireless card? what are the correct settings?
Go to Control Panel>System>Device Manager and right click on your wireless card and choose properties. On one of the tabs is the settings for your wireless card, set it to 100% power and CAM (Constantly Awake Mode) or whatever the equivalent is.
thanx man. that's much appreciated.
That's an interesting piece of information.
But on the French version, below "Automatique", there are 6 different (?) power modes, all starting with "Mode de consommation "... but nothing else is visible as the window is too small!
How can one chose between different modes ????
