Windows 7 Fax and Scan issue

Hi,
I'm having trouble with Win 7 Fax & Scan on my new VGN-SR520G/B. When I try to send a fax, it fails after 1 or 2 or 5 or 10 pages with the message "The remote fax machine did not respond in time and the call was terminated". I set the number of retries to 6, and tried to send an 11 page fax. It failed all 6 retries on different page numbers. So I restarted it and it did that again. Finally, after about 5 restarts with 6 retries each, it finally sent all 11 pages.

I'm now trying to send another 11 page doc to the same fax number, and have tried a zillion times, and it is failing every time, on different page numbers.

I googled that error message, and other people have similar problems, but I see no solution. I tried Microsoft Support, but they said to use VAIO support.

Does anyone have any ideas?
