VGN-FE48E: Problem using Recovery Utility (Vista Home)

Hi, I've just bought a new VGN-FE48E with Vista Home pre-installed. When I tried to create recovery discs (following the instructions in the SONY Recovery Guide) the program started to create the first DVD up until 80% and then broke up with an error message that the disc would be faulty and I should try again with a new one. So I started the whole thing again with different discs just to get the same result. I don't want to spend all my DVDs this way so if anyone has an idea what I might be doing wrong I would be very grateful for your help.

What type of discs are you using?

Some discs don't work very well, sony and tdk are good quality discs.

Hi Matt, thanks for the quick answer! You really think it's the dvds? :smileythinking: Well one of those I used was from Memorex, the other I don't know anymore (allready in the trashbox). But I will buy some Sony or TDK discs and try it once again and hopefully it will be successfull.

You wouldn't believe the problem some of the drives have with certain makes of disc.
