Problems recording TV on Vaio Zone. model- VGC-M1

Hi,
I can't seem to record any material from the television. Everything is connected propely and it used to work however, all of a sudden it has stopped working saying that it "failed to register with the database" (sic)

Has anyone got any solutions/experience with this kind of problem?

Welcome to Club Vaio.

We have had this problem mentioned before. I recall the things to try (in this order) are:

1. Reinstall Vaio Entertainment

if that doesn't work, then -

2. Reinstall Vaio Zone

if no success, then -

3. Back up your data and Recover Drive C:\ from the Recovery Media

Do you have Recovery Discs?

...I have no recovery disks... I know, I'm an idiot 😛

I guess the only way to reinstall VAIO Media/Entertainment then is to recover the C drive is it?

*sigh* I guess its not that big a problem, I have an external hard drive that I can store my files on, its just a pain to have to go back to the factory settings, old versions of Flash, IE, etc.

Try reinstalling Vaio Entertainment and Vaio Zone first without recovering your drive - if it doesn't work then you can always do a drive C:\ Recovery as a last resort!!

1. Start -> All Programs -> Vaio Recovery Tool -> Vaio Recovery Utility
2. At the opening 'Main Menu' click on "OPTIONS" at the bottom of the screen.
3. Choose to 'Reinstall Programs that were previously installed'
4. Yes then Yes
5. Choose the Vaio Entertainment and Vaio Zone Applications and then Restore. (There may be more than one of each!!)
