Sony VGC-VS2 - Please come back

Hi

My 2 day old vgc-vs2 failed, 4 weeks later it is still with Sony.

Asked Sony Style for a new vs2, refused me! Cost me £1750

Ever seen a grown man cry?

'Inherant fault'. Very difficult o prove.

It is for the retailer to prove that the goods were not inherently faulty, not the other way around. The small claims court (up to £5000 I believe) costs virtually nothing if you are prepared to represent yourself. The process is very informal with an adjudicator listening to both sides of the argument and eventually arriving at a decision that is binding on both parties. Unfortunately, Sony would no doubt be represented by a Barrister at a cost greater than the product but this has very little bearing, and is indeed frowned upon in this court.

But I do agree that most of us just want the equipment, that we paid good money for, to be repaired and returned within a reasonable period (a month is not a reasonable period) of time without any further hassle!

Hi

After the h/drive went ka-put on the 2nd day, I asked for a replacement, by 'phone & e-mail, thinking I had a 7 day no quibble policy from Sony Style.

When I followed up this route last Friday, I was put through to a s/visor (Wolfgang), who was quite resolute in dismissing me, in fact before he put the 'phone down on me after exclaiming '....this is pointless'!

Two of the latest offers from Vaio support, is to keep hold of the machine until circa mid-March or return the PC to me with the fault and poss return it back to them when they find a solution.

Believe me, I could go on!

Thanks for that insight into small claims, I always had this misconception you needed a good lawyer, but if they make a fool of themselves then it's going to be noted by the people who know. It looks to them like the corp is trying to knock down the simple man.

I'll definately consider doing it if I need to,

cheers

Kee-Lo, I have done it in the past when one very wealthy man was trying to take the p*ss out of me. The judgement was in my favour, no stress and it did not cost me a penny. I reccomend it to all:smileyhappy:
