Dear Vaio Freinds
I recently had a problem with my computers cd rom, there for machine had to go in for repair.
My machine has now been in Germany for 5 weeks{at the repair centre}, sony whom it took a whole week just to deliver a simple box for pick up, have told me that they do not have a speaker which has mysteriously broken on my machine.
I cant speak strongly enough, and advise people to avoid buying a vaio. I have had lots of problems with the help desk, they have told me incorrect information and even lied to me on occasion.
Has anyone had any similar expieriences and offer any advice
Many Thanks
They have lost a speaker???
Then they're liable as it was in their custardy
They have discovered the speaker problem on its arrival in Germany
I have been told that they are manufacturing a speaker for my machine....the endless lies they have told me...
they have told me that they cannot give me a return date for my machine. Thus due to the fact that the call centre is in ireland and the repair centre is in germany, there is limited communication between the two.:smileysad:
Oh dear, this service/support problem goes from bad to worse!! My sympathises Paul, you are experiencing Sony at its worst. I have never had a major problem, thank goodness, but you do not have to read many threads on this forum to realise that you are not alone:smileysad:

that sounds really bad, NIMITZ7
If you have a VAIO and it works - thay are fantastic; but if you get one with a problem it looks pretty much like you are stuffed!!!
What would the situation be if you bought a new VAIO and it broke down in a couple of weeks and you just took it back to the Shop and insisted on a replacement?
It might be better to advise people who have a new laptop when they come on here with a problem which could be solved by Vaio-link, just take it back and get another one. Then its the shops problem and thay can wait 5 weeks for a speaker; because as long as the situation remains with us Vaio-fans waiting and dealing with Vaio-link then I cant see any improvement.
Nimitz7 - If you are in the UK, go to your local trading standards office and tell them your story. Then they can contact Sony.
I hope you get your machine back soon.
5 weeks - I could cycle to f****** Taiwan in that time!!! - well almost. Unacceptable:smileydevil:
Rant over!!!
Yeah you should take it to the shopwithin it's 30 days period of purchase.
