This goes to the users that have already upgraded:

Do you think that the new version has fixed the problems that 2.3 version had?Does it offer any new services or anything to the vp users?

What about the initializing you have to do in order to upgrade?
Isnt that a bit too much trouble for a single update?From what i ve seen most people have complications with the whole thing.

I havent upgraded yet and i would like to know what other people think about this before i do.

Upgrade doesnt seem to have added much value. Might be slightly more stable than before but otherwise don't think it was worth the effort.

The initialise has to be done from the SS3 controls menu and not from the VP menu. It does erase everything on the unit and it has to be reimported. Time consuming more than anything else. Nuisance if you have lots of pictures or anything else stored on the unit.

Also noticed that the connect site in SS3 is refusing to connect saying not authorised for use outside of the US. Doesnt appear to be anyway to change it back to the European site.

it did help a lot thank you.i really dont think i will download the ss3.0 now,as i ve heard only complaints and problems from everyone.
maybe with the next upgrade we'll see.

g1skard, you've probably donwloaded the wrong version, a lot of people had trouble a while back becuase they downloaded the wrong updates for SS. there is (for the updates at least) specific US and european versions, you may have to redownlaod from the european connect site.

No, I couldn't avoid the formatting / inicializing from SS 'cos I unistalled 3.0 and reinstalled 2.3 and the problem persisted.
It's a shame that Sony provides a correct hardware with a ridicolous and ashaming software.

I finf SS 3.0 more stable, quite faster. it has some cool imporovements but definitely not worth it if you have to format ehen you have like 5.000 songs.

This also means that if I ever change of computer or format mine, i'll have to do it again, so this is the last Sony product i will ever buy.
