Hi h4 - I think the nVidia control panel is right - welcome to the new digital age!!

The XL301 only works properly through the HDMI/HDCP connection. It is designed that way and sold for use with HDMI only. Anything else is going to be poor quality and in VGA resolutions below 576i.

If your projector has Component Video Connections you can connect at 576i.

I'm afraid these are your only output ports unless you can find some sort of USB adapter, but I don't think this will work either.

many thanks for the input... it certainly pointed me in the right direction.

although my projector res is only 854 by 480 it is 1080i and 720p compatible...when i read my manual (funny that, thats exactly how i solved the tosh prob when i had it) it reminded me i had a 3 rca to dvi adaptor...excellent.

now, after the usually fiddling i still have the poblem of having to right click nvidia control panel. can i not automatically run two displays when they second is connected?

Hello, i have the same problem with the Nvidia control panel in that if i have my HDMI screen plugged in, it doesn't seem to detect the powered up projector over my component out connector. The ability to flick between both HDMI and Component out seemlessly would be an absolute boon.

We had to watch Disney's Cars on a 32" LCD the other night, rather than my Sony projector! :open_mouth:

hi chalky white,

yeh i've put off so many films to wait till all my wiring was done and i could watch them on the big screen. i connected the projector after 3 months, and although films look really good on my 32" lcd, omg, the big screen is just tooooooo good.

well, anyway i connected the rgb cable from the output on the xl301 to the rgb input on the projector... it couldnt find the source... then i connected it to the dvi-a input with an rca to dvi-a adaptor and it worked!!!

i just wish there was a way i might access the nvidia control panel from the remote...
