Hey everyone my CPU is always running at 60% and my laptop always feels really hot....How can I find out why it's always running at 60% ??
Hi matthewhotdude
The cause could due to overheating...!!
what is the normal running temperature of your vaio..?
If your unsure, mobilemeter is a handy application to use..
Which model do you have matthewhotdude, and the operating system?
In the meantime down load MobileMeter (assuming you are using XP) and let us know the CPU temperature during normal usage.
EDIT LOL beat me to it Thalamus...
If you press and click on the Processes tab it might tell you if there's something running on your computer to make it constantly run at 60%. Ignore the System Idle Process as that percentage is what isn't being used. To make it easier to work out, click on where it says CPU twice - that way the processes that are hogging your CPU will appear at the top.
Thanks for the replys, I have a Vain AR21M running windows xp...I have downloaded that program and it says the cpu teps are .....63 oc .....I have just looked in the task manager at the processes running and its gone up changing from between 80 - 100% system idel process is using 50% and explorer is using 40%
Have you done a complete scan for virus' and adware?
Try downloading Process Explorer. It might help narrowing down the cause...

The download link is near the bottom of the page. Run it and see if there is a sub-process (don't know if that's the technical term) under explorer.exe that's hogging the CPU.
