TV KD-55XG8096 channel 4 issues

suddenly when i watch channel 4 it is not showing adverts but instead a little green waiting circle. It seems to get stuck on this circle often and doesn’t go back to the programme after the adverts must have ended. Also when I try to play a programme on channel 4 the little green waiting circle comes on and won’t play the programme. My tv uses Sony select for channels bbc1-channel 5. I’ve tried factory reset, emptying cache etc. please help it’s really annoying! I’ve gone as far as paying for channel 4+ to avoid the adverts to see if that helps but it hasn’t!

@Milajayne Have tried updating your TV's firmware? Take a look here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/lcd-tvs-android-xg80xx_x80xxg_xg81xx-series/kd-55xg8096/s... Also, try "uninstalling updates" from the application or the YouView/Catchup App and try open it again.

Hi thanks for your reply. 

seems I have the most recent software update. I can’t find any option to uninstall updates from the Sony select app?

@Milajayne Not from Sony select App itself, you click on setting the Apps then from the Apps menu.

Ok so when I go into settings-apps-Sony select there is no option to uninstall updates. 
I can clear cache, force stop etc

Hi; when I go to apps > all apps, there is no channel 4 to select, it only shows Sony select. And even at that, there is no ‘uninstall update option’ for any of the apps

Are you sure you are looking at All Apps.

 

The path on my TV which is different to yours but the path may be similar is.

 

Press the Settings button on the remote control.

On screen click on Settings> Apps> See all apps, press OK.

The list is shown alphabetically so Channel 4 shouldn't be too far down.

 

Perhaps you could share a screen shot of what you see.
