hello:
I have an xperia arc (only) not arc S year 2011 model got it just after launch in India March 2011 or so. Was running on gingerbread android platform. Today came to know they had launced ice cream sandwich for arc and was available in INdia, so decided to upgrade, downloaded pc companion and connected my phone to that via supplied usb cable, it indicated that the ice cream sandwich (ics) was available for it. I followed all instructions- it went thru almost an hour of updating, then it asked me finally to connect the usb cable while pressing the back button on the phone- I followed all instructions. Then it ask me to turn the phone on and ics shud load up- at that point The phone first displayed "SONY logo", then the screen blinked and it brightened and then showed xperia, the screen blanks out and goes back to sony like the first time and the phone then cycles thru alternate sony and xperia, I was instructed by pc companion to wait a while since it would take a while for the first boot up with ics, but after waiting at least onoe hour it did the same, then I tried to switch the phone off it would not- so I pulled the battery out, tried to reconnect pc companion thru usb, but it refused to recognise the phone after several attempts, I decided top try sony forum to seek help
Phone is ok state does have a lot of apps on the sd card and is not abused in any way and worked great before the attempted upgrade
feel real bad at trying and found many people had same issues with ics
Please help love the phone Sorry for long note just wanted to elaborate as much as possible
