I'm trying to download apps from Google Play, and am constantly faced with the pop up message:
"Insufficient storage
This device doesn't have enough space to download "APP NAME".
Consider deleteing apps or content that you no longer need and try again."
Frustratingly though, I have over 403MB of space available on internal memory and have moved literally everything that I can do onto the SD Card.
I've restarted, cleared caches, etc. How can I solve this error? Nothing will install anymore!
Solved! Go to Solution.
like many other people an app on my cd card is taking up a lot of interrnal storage, but I cannot find an easy solution to this.
i am having the same issue, can not move anymore apps to sd card, but now if i restart the phone the apps on the sd card do not work
I've had my phone for just over a month and can't believe how rubbish it is because it won't let you transfer some apps to the SD card. It seems arbitrary which apps these are. When I first got the phone I thought this was a malfunction so I reset the phone and started again but the result was the same. I bought an Aqua trusting Sony after my last phone but won't make that mistake again. Physically a nice phone but the software is crap, but not as crap as Sony's attitude to it's its customers.
So basically everyone has the same issue with this phone. I have no free internal memory left, but still have 14.5GB free on a 16GB SD card, but can not install any more apps, even though I have only installed about 20 apps on my phone (come on Sony, that is really not a lot). Why can't I install all my apps on the SD card?
It's a pity because I really like the phone, but having a maximum of 20 apps is really bad. Sony, sort it out!
I have an 32gb SD card added to my M4 mobile , yet android and other basic sony apps filling the main disc. I ve moved everything I could to SD card yet I can't install a single app that is less than 50mb to my phone after last android system update. M4 aqua is fundementally a big fail.
a portion of the problem is fixed after I cleared cached data (>Home>settings>storage>cached data)
which cleared around 400mb space
but the real problem still stays , if I been told before buying this phone that you ll have less than 500mb left to use after OS an d basic apps, I wouldn't buy it
I can't install a single game even..
if you are using the 8gb version, you should have done your research : http://www.gsmarena.com/8gb_sony_xperia_m4_aqua_comes_with_only_126gb_usable_memory-news-12565.php

there is another way of transffering all apps to sd but involves rooting your device, search at XDA forums
Not much experience with smartphones unfortunately!
My phone is telling me internal storage is full.( It won't even accept incoming texts though I cleared all messages out).
Have a 64GB storage card on which I have successfully put the 2 apps I've loaded. But when I go to "storage>transfer data to SD card" it does not give me the option to do so with video/photo/music/apps showing 000. When I go to move any apps individually none give me the option to transfer to the card. Help!!!
