Insufficient storage; (I have sufficient storage)!!!

I'm trying to download apps from Google Play, and am constantly faced with the pop up message:

"Insufficient storage

This device doesn't have enough space to download "APP NAME".

Consider deleteing apps or content that you no longer need and try again."

Frustratingly though, I have over 403MB of space available on internal memory and have moved literally everything that I can do onto the SD Card.

I've restarted, cleared caches, etc. How can I solve this error? Nothing will install anymore!

Hey, I have some problems with interal storage capacity, which is in general very small in this phone unfortunately.

1) While my phone itself says there's about 450 MB left, when i connect it to a pc, it shows only 250 Bs left on internal storage

2) I always move everthing to the SD-card what is possible according to the phone. Right now there's one app with 180 MBs left to be moved to SD, but the action always fails (tried it several times also after restart).

3)  I can't install any apps even not small ones with less than 50 MB, even though there are 450 MB available

4) I don't know how to gain more storage. I have moved everything possible to SD, I empty the cache from time to time, and I have deisntalled all apps I don't use. I didn't install that many apps, either, (around 15 in total, and those I need).

there are several apps on teh phoen which I neve ruse, but thos (preinstalled) can not be deleted /deinstalled from the phone unfortunately.

I woudl be very grateful to get some help as the sony hotline coudln't give me any useful tip how to get my phone working again.

I can't update applications because I have got only 300mb free. I can move only 5 application into the sd card and I moved all the photos to the sd card (of 8gb) and I can't update the applications (instagram,WhatsApp,Snapchat walkman and album) I am very disappointed because when I bought the phone was there 1,5 gb free. Please help me 😢

I am really getting tired of this: I've upgraded the M4 to the latest firmware, transferred all apps to the SD card and I keep getting the message: Not enough space to install this software.

I tried to clean the cache of certain apps, but still the free space is about 412mb (I am aware of the 500mb).

I am seriously thinking of getting a different phone-this is getting really tiring Slightly_frowning_Face

Yeah I would have to agree. This is a pretty pathetic state sony. you have basically produced a phone that's next to useless.

I have half of my precious internal storage filled with your rubbish that I can't get rid of, then I have an email client, a couple of banking apps , whats app and chrome. Not exactly going overboard on the functionality i'm getting from my 'smart phone'

There's no point in taking any photo's and actually using the camera, because it doesn't have enought room to store them.

I also have around 450MB free space and now I can't get security updates for apps because they are complaining of insuficienct storage.

There's not to may more apps I want to delete

They only way I can see of this being fixed is you actually releasing marshmallow with adobtable storage working on it. But you have been talking about that for months with nothing actually happening.

Come on Sony, stop leaving your existing customers in the lurch, part of selling things is repeat customers, and if you upset your existing customers they wont buy a Sony again. There's plenty of better phones out on the market.

After have my phone repaired I am constantly getting to the end of my internal storage. According to xperia companion I have successfully put all photos, music and videa on internal storage and have moved downloard apps there too, but still they seem to be on the device's memory when i look under the storage settings.

Sorry, but that isn't really a solution. It's an explanation, but it's not useful solution

you can do this, i've tried this to my m4. unistall all updates on all google apps or uninstall unnecessary apps it may give at least 1.3 gb of free storage.
