HT-ZF9 sound drops out
Our HT-ZF9 with rear surround speakers puts out some terrific sound. But, almost two years on, annoying random audio drop-outs continue. The unit, along with all of our other gear, is connected to our Sony KD65XF9005 with high-quality HDMI 2.0 cables. This issue was documented by consumers shortly after the HT-ZF9 was introduced two years ago. We keep the system software up-to-date. Hard resets by cutting power to the unit work as a fix less and less.
I'm stunned that Sony has not come up with a resolution yet.
Is anyone else still experiencing this problem. Has anyone solved the problem?

Same issue, my audio drops out on HT-ZF9 when eARC is enabled.
First Sony has told me its a firmware issue, now when warranty has expired they are telling me its a hardware problem. Seeing forums - lots of ppl suffer from similar issues.

yea turning off eARC fixes the issue but thats not the point, we spet 2000E on an eARC capable setup (TV and the soundbar) and we would like to take full advantage of it.

For what it's worth, if your sub woofer is close enough to the soundbar, you could try hard wiring that and turning the eArc back on. (There are 3.5mm ports on both hidden behind stuck on panels). It has stopped drop outs for me, but I don't have eArc on my TV, so don't know if it will fix it for you. Worth a few quid to try though possibly. As an aside, I've also read that other wifi signals can cause drop outs too.

Will give it a go. But sound also drops out on the main soundbar which is wired via HDMI directly to the TV.

Likewise, but hardwiring the sub seems to have fixed that too. No idea why.

Hi Kuba80, did you try the basics? Factory reset, SW update? If yes, from what I understand you reported the issue within the warranty, so the repair should be done under warranty.

I can confirm that so far after the lastest (24.02) update (v6.0466) for my Bravia KD-65XH9096 the issue did not occur.

drop was noticed only 20 minutes in... sound completely shut out. So I had
disable Earc on the sound bar again and put up with the micro drop outs
which happen once or twice a day

I have also tried with my xh9005 but when enabling eARC on both systems a drop was noticed only 20 minutes in... sound completely shut out. So I had disable Earc on the sound bar again and put up with the micro drop outs which happen once or twice a day
