I just got a Sony DAV-DZ330 and hooked it up to my Toshiba Regza 32av615db and my 360 and set it up as follows:
Sony surround sound----(scart)-----TV-----(hdmi)----xbox
the problem ive got is that whilst watchin tele the sound is great but when I try and go onto my xbox on my tv, the sound playing is still from the normal channels on the tv (e.g. bbc1) so i cannot listen to my 360 through my surround sound, would this problem be solved by adding the optical connecter to my xbox 360 and attaching an optical cable ? If so, which would I then turn my surround system to, to hear the xbox ? or could this problem be solved by just changing the settings on my TV.
if anyone could help that would be great thanks.
Subbing to your thread as i have a similar set up i.e surround system and regza tv so will wait until someone answers you.
It's all gobbledy gook to me lol
Yes adding an optical connection should resolve this and allow you to benefit from your speakers whilst playing xbox.
I can't remember which output to switch your DAV, it may not even matter and just push the sound out regardless of which one you have selected.
Thanks
