Hi.
I mainly use my tv for PS5 (HDMI 4) & PC (HDMI 3), and have always had the occasional disappearance of sound on the PS5 HDMI 4 channel - where only a restart will solve.
Thing is it's started to happen even more regularly, and now is also doing it with my PC on HDMI 3.
Any ideas / solutions?
I really have lost so much faith in Sony products, as the quality seems a shadow of it's former self (yet they still charge a premium).
Any help much appreciated, as I'm not going to restart set every time - I shouldn't have to.
Ta!
Hi @Shwing If you are looking for some interaction from Sony Support , then you will need to contact them direct. This is principally a customer helps customer community. There is some generic help from Sony employees on here, which often is just simply "have you tried a factory reset" and the occasional software update links for older TVs. Rarely any help with specific issues.
I think you asked the wrong question then 😢
If what you meant was “Do Sony employees rush to address every question asked on here?” then the answer is no; as @LightFoot avers, this is primarily a customer-to-customer Community.
But you will find posters here with SONY beside their names (the lack of which will tell you that I am just a layman here, like you)
And perhaps @TheGOAT, say, will come on here and reply to you, thus deserving his modest handle by taking ownership of your issue, and proving that Sony representatives are not quite as silent as Sony HDMI ports?
Another Kudos given for the 'as silent as the HDMI ports' comment 😁
It is rather disappointing (though not entirely a surprise) that Sony themselves don't feel they need a presence in the 'Community' area - god forbid they have to help a customer!
Every other Community forum I've ever been on has pro-active company reps, so silly me for thinking Sony would be the same.
I really can't get over how much distaste Sony seem to have for their customers - and then they wonder why they're not making as much profit as they should be... hmmmmm, let me think 🤔
@Shwing Regarding the issue you're facing with your TV 🙄, I'd say use a high-speed HDMI cable and connected to the eARC HDMI port and try to change the HDMI signal format as well: https://helpguide.sony.net/tv/iaep1/v1/en/04_12.html?hl=game
