I have recently bought a KD-55XH9505 tv. It is hanging on the wall.
I have noticed a squeaking sound from the tv, I think it is from the plastic parts. I haven’t noticed it when the tv is off, only when it is on. It comes maybe every few minutes apart after the tv is turned on. After some time (maybe an hour) it disappears.
Is that normal, or is my tv faulty?
I had a 55” Sony A1 before, it never made any of those noises (I had to replace it due to severe burn-in after 3-4 years).
What you are hearing is probably thermal expansion making the plastic flex until it is fully warmed up, after which it stops.
Run the TV until the squeaking stops, then take it off the wall, loosen all the bracket fixings, on the wall and on the TV, and then tighten them again and remount the TV on the wall.
This will ensure the plastic panels stay under light tension when cold, so they don’t try to bow as they expand.
As Royabrown2, this is thermal expansion, it is normal unless the sound changed to popping sound for example or the unit becomes hot.
