Hi. I have a Sony TV KD65XG81 with the internet set up as follows.
Main router has an Ethernet cable out to bedrooms TP Link extender router and the tv is connected to the WiFi extender router.
This works fine.
The problem is I have recently bought a TP Link network switch and have now plugged the Ethernet cable from the main router into that and have came out of the switch to the tv with wired LAN but I’m getting a real slow connection? Buffering every second etc.
Shouldn’t this be a quicker connection?

@williamfsmith asked a good question, but it seems unlikely that even a sub-gigabyte switch would give the issue you describe.
What is the model number of the switch?
What else, if anything, is plugged into the switch? Does that work OK?
As I understand the topology of what you are describing, you have just replaced:-
the WiFi extender router with a WiFi connection to the TV
with:-
the switch plus a further Ethernet cable to the TV
- Correct?
Can you try attaching a laptop, with its WiFi switched off, to the Ethernet cable going to the TV, instead of the TV, and see what speed you are getting, and if the laptop likewise buffers, e.g. on YouTube?
And let us know the results?
Hi TSav11,
I agree with Roya's suggestion, test the same connection with your laptop and run a speed test and check if it is the same as your WIFI speed?
